Introducing the EVO64 Multi Switch Module (MSM)

The Multi Switch Module (MSM) was developed to provide a novel and convenient way to manage the many configuration options and states that your EVO64 system has to offer.

Enthusiasts already know how cool it is to have onboard access to EVO’s dense multi-ROM (containing up to 8x Kernal ROMs, 4x versions of Basic, 8x Character sets and Cartridge images). They also love the flexibility of being able to change their dual-SID setup for Mono or Stereo, selecting which SID is primary and whether extended address ranges are needed. However, having to open up system's case to access all of that configurabilty, with jumpers and dip switches, used to be inconvenient. 

WITH MSM, YOU'RE IN CONTROL:

• Conveniently manage all your config settings, using a simple set of keyboard hot key commands. No need to touch jumpers or dip switches.
• Individual configuration changes to ROMs, Character Sets, SID Settings, as well as activating Catridge Images, can be made instantly and on the fly, using a few simple key strokes. 
• Complete system states can be saved and reloaded instantly, giving you one-command access to an entire set of configuration settings at once.

MSM IS A SCALABLE PLATFORM:

• The MSM is ready for the future, with built-in expadability to support a multitude of new modules and add-ons that will become available soon.
• For starters, we have a VICII Oscillator board in the early prototyping stages, which will dynamically manage your PAL/NTSC video mode changes (requires a Kawari or a dual-VICII board).
• Members of the EVO community are already planning their modules, including a Dual-VIC-II swaping solution and LED Lightstrips that respond to SID audio!

THIS KIT INCLUDES:

• The main Multi Swtich Module (MSM), which is installed in between your EVO and Keyboard, so it can look for hot key sequences and trigger configuration changes on your EVO system.
• A mini ROM-SID module, which is seated over the header pins that your EVO uses to manage its ROM, Cartridge and SID settings.
• A 4x20 Character Display Module, displays your system's current configuration state.
• All of the cabling required to connect the MSM to your EVO, as well as the ROM-SID and the Display Module are included with this kit.

PLEASE NOTE:

• The current MSM firmware is only compatible with EVO64 Rel 1 boards, which use the QAPLA' (proprietary EVO PLA chip).
• Future firmware revisions will provide support the EVO Blue Pearl, as well as other C64 remakes with various multi-ROM modules.
